My name is Evan Schwartz and I'm a distance runner born and living in Columbus, Ohio. I started running in elementary school and found some success in high school while winning league titles and placing well in our district and regional meets.
I was a walk on at The Ohio State University for a year and a half before being cut my sophomore year. I used that as motivation to try and improve my overall mindset about running and training and have found success with running since then. I graduated from The Ohio State University in 2015 with a B.A. in Public Affairs.
I've also been working at the Columbus Running Company since 2014 and have managed our Short North (Downtown) location since 2016. I'm passionate about helping other people improve their running and find motivation in other people better themselves.
In December of 2017 I qualified to the 2020 Olympic Marathon Trials with a time of 2:18:19 at the California International Marathon.
I also co-host a podcast called The 1609 Podcast which focuses on weekly running news, gear reviews, and interviews with other runners.
This website has been a dream for a long time, and I want to thank multiple people for their input and help, including Alexandra Sizemore for design and Dan Forward for legal advice.
